Where to stay - Buguldeika
The town may be unknown to many travellers. However, it lends itself to cyclists and hikers as starting point of very attractive tours along the Lake Baikal and the Tacheransk steppe until Olkhon. Additionally, a bus route connects the town to Irkutsk - admittedly, the road doesn't actually make the visitor assume that.
Stable hotel Zarechnoye
There is a big stable hotel in Buguldejka which also lets rooms as well as small lodges. The rooms are quite comfortable and provide shower and WC as well as a television set. As the stable hotel is well attended by Russians and therefore often booked up, especially in summer, it is also possible to camp not far from the stable and use its infrastructure facilities. The meals (650 roubles/day) are good.
