Where to stay - Ulan-Ude
Our Advice!! Hotel Burjatia
The hotel is the largest in Ulan-Ude and is located visibly in the very center of the city. From the small, however clean rooms you get a pretty view over the entire city. This allows you to forget about the old Soviet era charm the hotel is still radiating inside. Based on the favorable prices and the perfect location, this hotel is probably always first choice for all those who simply need a place to sleep.

All rooms have a phone and a bath with toilet. On the ground floor, there is both a restaurant and a cafe. To be sure, neither offers gourmet cuisine, for the meals are very low-priced. The receptionists behave somewhat soberly detached, and still on each floor one can experience the "antique" floor keepers " Deschurnaja".
Hotel Geser
In the past, the hotel was named "Oktjarberskaja" and was reserved for the ruling nomenclatura only. In part this had to do with Ulan-Ude being closed for foreigners until 1989. The hotel is located in the city center in a two storey Soviet building.

This is the newest (opened in 2003) and most expensive hotel of the city, and next to the hotel Geser also the best of the city.

Hotel Baikal
The hotel is situated directly vis-à-vis the world-famous world-largest Head of Lenin. To be sure it makes a sort of run-down impression would urgently need some reconstruction. However, it is also one of the lowest-priced hotels in the center of the city.
