Ust-Ordynsk is quite an unimpressive place only consisting of framehouses and a few administrative buildings. You will, however, not miss the place since at the fork in the direction of Olkhon or Katchug you will pass a huge silvery statue of a rider. But Ust-Ordinsk is worth a visit for another reason it has one of the most interesting museums of local history which informs its visitors about the way of living and the culture of the Buryats at the west-coast of Lake Baikal.
