Bus and Train
Irkutsk has a quite well structured system of busses and trains at its disposal. However, its importance has decreased due to the rapidly increasing number of more comfortable, and - most important - faster shared taxis (Marshrutnoe Taxi) during the last years. Still, there is a high number of lines, and often, busses are not over-crowded anymore as they used to be. As in most parts of Russia, dodging the fare is basically impossible since conductors will be present on every bus or train. Currently, a single ticket in Irkutsk can be purchased for 5 Rbl.
